We, III Year students [16 boys, 14 girls] of Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture, had the opportunity to attend the Innovation Sprint Workshop hosted at FORGE, a prominent innovation and startup incubation hub.

The workshop offered an introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship. It began with an insightful session led by Dr.Lakshmi Meera, VP & CPO of FORGE, who helped us clearly distinguish between conventional small businesses and startups. We learned that a startup isn’t just a small business, it’s about solving a real problem in an innovative way. That simple shift in perspective helped us understand what it meant to be an entrepreneur.

The core aspect of the workshop was on Design Thinking, a user-focused problem-solving methodology. We were guided through each stage empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing, giving us the tools to turn ideas into practical solutions with real impact.

Another key takeaway was learning the seven fundamental steps that transform a raw idea into a structured framework and eventually into a startup. This process showed us how even the simplest thought could be nurtured into something meaningful through the right approach. This session was handled by Mr. Aman Kumar Dubey. He gave many live examples for successful startups, which encouraged us more.

One of the most exciting parts of the workshop was a 30-minute idea challenge by Mr. Kiran, where we had to think creatively and pitch an innovative concept under time pressure. This activity not only boosted our confidence but also sharpened our ability to think quickly and pitch effectively.

The hands-on experience with technologies like 3D printing and laser cutting was another major highlight. It exposed us to tools essential for product design and prototyping, offering a glimpse into the practical side of innovation in startup ecosystems.

The Innovation Sprint Workshop was more than just a learning experience. It redefined how we approach creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship. We walked in with curiosity and walked out with confidence.
